Tune back to Christmas....

The past few days has been the busiest week of my life in 2009. I have been in and out of the house until I think I need a long re-charge beginning of next year! Hahaha..... guess I am just giving myself another good excuse for a short holiday. Sounds good right? :D

I just landed back to the office after the long weekend holiday. Still sleepy, I tuned back to what I had done and like to share a little here and there. The last day of work for last week was Thursday the Christmas Eve. As I had posted earlier, I had Christmas Eve's dinner at TGIF and went home. Later in the evening, as I just got out from warm shower, I got a call from my friend TC. He called to say that he just got out to hunt for dinner and was at D'Piazza but unfortunately the place was called closed. Then he decided to venture to mamak and asked if I would like to join him. I was wondering, why not? So I rushed myself to get dressed and dry my hair. In no time, he was just outside my house waiting for me. Did I mention that.... he is the only one guy that I know who is always ON time! And always have the courtesy to call if he is running late. :D
We wanted to head to a mamak at QB but unfortunately the traffic was packed at 10:30pm. Eventually we redirected to Kayu instead. Phew... at least there is no traffic jam all the way but the restaurant is packed! He queued to get his food while I looked for a place. I was there for a drink since I am super full from TGIF. We were there till about 12:10am to realize that it was Christmas already.... we wished each other and then we decided to call it for the night.

The next morning, I got up at 8am to get myself ready for Christmas Day service in PCC. To be honest, I haven't been to church for years and I am not proud if it. But as you know my 2010 resolutions, I will make an effort to change and be back to a good Christian lifestyle that I should maintain. I went to church with my cousin sister, StepG. It was her first time attending Christmas service. :D Glad that she went. She enjoyed the praise and worship and almost fell asleep during the word. :P One step at a time I guess....  Oh, here are the balance of the Christmas prezzie I got this year. I want to thank each and everyone of them and God bless you all!

I got a Christmas card from Ecazstudios, "I Love You" Chocolate from my old pal Wilson, the pack of hand lotions from Julie and m&m's chocolate from Gabe.

How was your Christmas? :D

2010 New Year Resolution

2009 is being a really adventurous year for me. It's been a year that I had 7 funerals and 6 weddings. To make things worst, it's a year that I barely pulled through as I was in the hospital for an OP and suffered from severe back pain till this very day. I never thought I am going to say this but.... I can't wait for 2009 to be over with! It's not a year that I would be want to have a flash back on.
As for 2010, I had so far come up with 2 resolutions. One of them is to attend church regularly and back to serving. While the second one, which my mum can't wait for this to happen, to be a good girl. It might sound easy... but trust me, it is going to take lots of courage and encouragement to keep up with these two resolutions. :D

So what will be your next year resolutions?

Food: TGIF @ Queensbay Mall

Christmas just went past like that... tick! Wah.. good times really past by fast. So, what did you do on Christmas Eve's and actualy day? For me, I had to work as usual on the Christmas Eve. Was a long and busy day but was worth it as I had a nice dinner with my mom and cousins. Knowing that Penang is going to be seriously packed at the northern area, we decided to have dinner around Bayan Lepas area. This practically means, either Equatorial or Eastin Hotel. But unfortunately, it is fully booked already. Didn't have much choice then, we decided to dine in TGIF, Queensbay. We had never dine in there during special occasions like birthday or Christmas, this is the first time. I had the place booked for 5 pax under my name, 7:30pm. We knew that the place are going to be packed so we decided to arrive early to avoid parking problems. About 7pm, we already got ourself a car parked and we were at TGIF about 7:20pm after wondering around for a short while.

My cousin brother was being really naughty and cheeky. Guess he was filled with Christmas spirit. He walked up to TGID and told the guy in-charge at the entrances that I am Jennifer and I had a reservation for 5 pax at 7:30pm. He looked up and got so shock that he couldn't say a word. Hahahaha.... ooppss....
Eventually, I told that guy my cousin was just joking and I am Jennifer and gave him a sweet smile like this :D We were soon seated and there were a lot of families standing and waiting for their turn. We were given about 8 choices of menu to choose from and I took steak! It was good! Yummy....... We had a nice dinner wand good company too. It was a good way spending your time with your family and love ones.
I do hope you did had a great time too!

I can't remember the name of the menu available but the food was just excellent from starter to dessert!

Gifts from Christmas 2009

I have always love Christmas as it's the joy of giving and blessing in return too. Let me let you take a peek of my Christmas present. They are just lovely! As to me, it is the thoughts that counts. I will cherish them always. To all givers, a big Thank you to you and you and of course YOU. I used to have lots and lots of them but as I grow wiser, the numbers of presents automatically reduce too! Does that even sync? Eemm.... not sure if it does happen to other people but I know it does to me! May you get lots of presents from your family and friends. Have a great Christmas this year.

Blessed Christmas to each and everyone of you!

Photography: Penang Times Square

Last Sunday, my cousin sister, Stephanie and myself was there to attend the Christmas event in Penang Times Square. It is organized by the churches in Penang and Penang State Government as well. They have tents and stage up for the performance. The response was good as the whole place was packed with young and old people. Each church will contribute different performances such as singing, dance and many more.

(Peky.... ain't that your Pastor? :P)

That was my first time there ever since it open. The place is quite big but there ain't many shops that are open. Sunshine City had just opened recently and they are having promotion. The main crowd for shoppers was for that shop only.

However, the christmas decoration was up. The place was filled with christmas lights and trees too.

We were there early so we wonder around the place both inside and outside for some nice shots. There isn't to see or eat or do. Guess, for the place to survive, it needs more entertainment and variety of shops. It's not a place that I will go back unless there are improvement. I even find it hard to find a place for food as only few restaurants are there and mostly packed! We ended up trying this new restaurant .... Gasoline. I find that the food is too oily and nothing special.

Among the shops, only one shop was very "happening" there as it was their grand opening day. They even invited models, photographers, the great "tai-tai"s and all hot chicks too! The name of the shop is none other than....

This shop is their first shop and they sells cloths while the second shop sells shoes. Buffet was served for all the invited guest. The picture below was taken from Level 1 as the ground floor was packed by the hired photographers and vistiors.

I didn't stay long to watch the cat walk and fashion show on the shoe. Took a glance earlier before the event started and nothing nice capture my eyes. I think Charles and Keith have a better range of collections. Before ending this post, let me show you what I see on the surrounding of Penang Times Square.

Last but not least the evening view of Komtar (Penang ICON).

Food: Home's Cafe

Sunday... it's a day of rest. I got up late this morning cause I slept super duper late after late night coffee session with an ex-school mate of mine. It was a good time to catch up with her. Had a 3 hours long chit-chat. It is already 12pm when I message Jonie if she would like to join me for lunch. YES indeed was the answer. So make set the appointment at 1pm and she picked me up and we headed to Home's Cafe @ D'Piazza, Bayan Baru.

It's been a open for a few months only and I think the food taste nicer that Old Town. Besides that the price is quite reasonable for a fashionable coffee shop style.

I also got a few pictures of Jonie and lunch too! She is a very shy lady. Now you see... and now you don't.

The hazelnut coffee taste and smell very nice indeed. :D My personal recommendation is the "or kuih" which is the yam cake. It is a MUST try!!

Photography: Queensbay Mall, Christmas 09

Christmas 2009 is just 5 days away and the decoration is up in Queensbay Mall. At first, I didn't understand why did QBM have the theme black in colour for this year Christmas. Until I realize that they are launching the Batman series and promotion. It don't really like it being black cause it doensn't really bring up the Christmas mood. There is nothing I can complain about, but just enjoy the best out of nothing. Can you spot the Batman logo sign? :P

I was out with Jonie one late evening for night photography in QBM. We wanted to try something new for once and here are my pictures that I would like to share. For those of you who are not in Penang and haven't visited QBM, hope you enjoy the pictures! :D

These pictures are taken from one of the roundabout in QB.

Food: Ah Basri Satay

When I heard the word satay.... I will be drooling all the way. It's in my favourite food categories. It's not easy to find nice and tasty satay. It's the ingredient that is used to marinate the meat that makes the satay taste delicious. The peanut sause also play another important part of making the satay yummy. In Penang, Satay Ah Basri is well known for the quality and also the variety that is offered. There are lamb, beef, squid, deer, prawn, ostrich and even Horse was in the menu! But I think that is subject to availability. It is located in Sungai Ara but we were informed that they will be moving to a new location at D'Piazza Mall at Bayan Baru before Christmas. I will update the address once I have it. So come back and check for the updated address.

Here is the current address (before Christmas 2009): 1020, Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim, Sungai Ara, 11900 Bayan Lepas, Penang. (Slightly opposite to Fisherman Grill Restaurant)
Contact Person: Ahmad Basri
Mobile No: 019-410 0080, 012-410 0080
E-mail: inquiry@enakselera.com

The picture above is the outlook of the place when you pass by the road side. You won't miss it as it is on the left hand side of the road if you are coming from Bukit Jambul. The first satay pictures shows you the lamb and squid satay. While the second pictures shows lamb, chicken and deer. Does it looks yummy to you? Drooling now? I know I am.... :P

I was there for the first time prior to a photography gathering and I didn't went alone; I brought Jonie with me this time round! I do hope she enjoyed herself there cause I think she was bored at the very beginning. It was raining that evening, quite a number of the regulars didn't turn up. Only a handful of us, 2 ladies (myself and Jonie) and 6 gentlemans.... here they are....

Food: Each a Cup

I found another new drink stall, Each a Cup, at Queensbay Mall (QBM) Level 2. This stall sells my favourite drink, bubble tea. A few years back, when this was a hot thing in Penang, it was everywhere. When I mean everywhere means it can be found at every corner of each shopping mall. Now, it's hard to find a stall that sells nice and tasty bubble tea.

When I was in Melbourne, I will make sure I will take them when I see one. One of my favourite flavour is the champagne grape milk tea. Normally, you will see the seller put in scope of powder to make the drink. However, this stall is a little special. They prepare the drinks by using quality concentrated juice and the taste is up to the same standard as the one I had in Melbourne. I am surely a happy customer. Hope they will be able to maintain their good quality and standard.
Today is  their 3rd day in QBM and they are having promotion. Go grab one now! :D
