Photography: Camwhoring Session

After the press conference yesterday, we spend time to catch up with one another and just relax. Terence was having a good time with Ms Lumix LX-3 till there is no life in her. He took more than 200 pictures of almost everything and including camwhoring himself. It's really funny I tell you. Unfortunately he had deleted them before we managed to transfer it out of Ms Lumix. Here are some of the camwhoring session that I can share it with you.

All the credit above goes to Terence for the lovely shots! :D

If you have been following my blog closely, I did mention about Penang Twestival 2010. It's just a few more days away.. 6 days to be exact. So don't miss this event as we all gather for a good cause. About 3 weeks back, I volunteered myself to be part of the committee. I was approached by Jason via twitter. Through the event, I not only managed to work side by side with him but also Prema, Nexus, Terence, Jessica and Daniel too. Each and everyone one of us come from different background and we are here to support and make Penang Twestival a great success. It was my privilege to be part of the team, to give and bless those who are less fortunate than us.

We had been meeting on a weekly basis to keep ourselves updated and make sure we are all at the right track. Besides our normal office work, we had put aside our personal time to run an extra mile for this event. We hope that more people are aware and they can do their part too. For those of you who are interested, but you have lots of uncertainties,  hope this will answer your questions. If not, do drop me a message and I will get back to you right away. Food: Sun Yoon Kee Seafood Restaurant

This place was recommended in one of the Chinese newspaper last Sunday. My boss decided to go there for lunch instead to test it out. It is located at Cintra Street. The building is one of the pre-war house and  business has been there for ages. Most of the staffs there are like 65 years old and above and oh boy they have the energy to go up and down the stairs to serve the food and drinks. Really admire their strength.

As you enter the coffee shop, you will see a meat stall on your left hand side. It is the place where they sell the chicken, pig and other related meat stuff there. They still maintain the place as original as before such as the tables and chairs and also most of the menu.

When we went there, the lower ground was packed so we move to the upstairs where there were like 5 to 6 more tables. My boss ordered about 6 dishes and they taste quite good. Don't know the name of the dishes but manage to take some snap shoot of it.

Should go and try for yourself. Before we left, we make payment at the counter and check out the 40 over years cash register. It is so antique. Something you don't get to see it anymore these days. I asked permission for taking the picture and the boss was very nice to allow me to do so. Going to be a good memory for the days to come...

Photography: Baby Sherlyn

This cute girl is actually my cousin. :D She was out with us yesterday for coffee. It's my first time out with her and I couldn't resist taking pictures of her. She is very obedient and well behave for a young child like her. Here are some shots I took of her.

That is her daddy carrying her and she is carrying my teddy bear!

She is making her order as she is holding the menu. I want food too. :P

Look the way she smile! :D

That is her with her ice-cream. She don't allow her parents to feed her cause she wants to do it herself.

:P See I told you I can manage! Hehehehe......

Food: Coffee Lane - Syphon Brewed Coffee

e It was weekend again and I was out for another venture. This time, it's syphon brewed coffee at Coffee Lane which is located at King St. If you have no idea, it is at the same road with Sire Museum. This place was introduced by my ex-school mate, Ms Anggur. She knows that I love taking pictures and  coffee. So, she was very keen that I should personally try this place. The style of brewing the coffee is very interesting as it is using the syphon way. It is inside one of the pre-war house. The place had  renovated and it's very neat and clean. The unique and olden days layout are there. That makes it more natural and beauty. It's not easy to find well maintain pre-war house in Penang anymore. Most of the houses had been converted to new buildings.

Inside the house, it gives you a very homely feeling. I sense that because it reminds me of my childhood house in Jelutong. I grew up in this kind of houses and it does bring back lots of nice memories. It was already noon when we were there and decided to have our branch there instead. We ordered tom yam mee soup and chicken noodle in chicken herbal soup for lunch. The food taste good and the presentation of the food is nice too.

Don't they look delicious? Oopps.... I am hungry de! :P

Let's move to other pictures on the equipement that was used to brew the nice coffee. The owner, Mr Terry Beh, was very friendly and nice person. I asked for permission to take pictures around the place and during the preparation of the coffee and he gave me a green light! :D My mum was asking how the coffee is brewed while I was taking pictures! :D That is pretty obvious right? Hehe...

See how the coffee powder is brewed? :D

Part of the preparation of the coffee.

This is part of the making for ice cream coffee. I am going to try that the next round.

Different types of syphon used to brew the coffee.

The termometer used to control the temperature of the water boiling.

There are many types of bean that are available for your choices. Different beans will give you the different taste and aroma too. The coffee that I took is medium bitter without sugar. The best part of the brewed coffee is that the after taste of the coffee will still last in your throat for a while. That is something I enjoy very much drink the brewed coffee from this place.

This is my mum enjoying her coffee, which has a total different taste from mine. Much stronger.....
