Good Bye 2010

2010 has been a great and a wonderful year for me. Even with the ups and downs that I had to go through, it's still a GREAT year. Time flew by very fast and it's the last day of 2010. In the near future, I will look back to this year and smile at it reflecting the good things I had achieve this year. 2011 is less than 12 hours away and I am keen to look forward to it. Good bye 2010!

Food: Weissbräu German Cuisine

My second visit to Strait Quay and was there to have dinner with my girlfriends. The place is still brand new and not much changes from my first visit. I was looking forward to catch up with both my lovely friends; Peky and Jonie. Both of them have passion for photography as well and their shots are simply amazing. Just follow them at their blogs and website to check it out.

For dinner, we decided to try something new which non of us had. So we end up choosing Weissbrau which is a German Cuisine. If you enter the building from the centre, turn to your left and you won't miss it.

As we walk near the the door, we were greeted by the waiter. He was asking us if we would prefer indoor or outdoor. Outdoor will have nice view but there wasn't any wind. So we decided to take indoor as we were all sweating. It's a very nice place with the Christmas decoration and I took a few pictures of the place; the bar, tables and chairs.

Once we were all seated, we were served with the menu. We were all browsing it high and low but didn't know what to go for. Thus, to make it easier, we decided to call three different course and share among ourselves. I think it's still new or the pantry was not fully packed yet, the pork knuckles that we wanted to try was out of stock :( No choice we had to other other stuff and I eventually forgotten the name. But no worries.. I had some pictures taken!

Food ordering process was longer than ever as some of the food are not available from the menu.

Photography time while waiting for the food to be cook!

Our Jonie Lim with her lovely Canon G10. Lovely shots taken by her and her toy. She is always so sweet with her smile.

That's my candid shot of Peky! She was busy playing with her new toy - iPhone 4. The entire night we were busy exchanging apps and talking about iPhone 4 and the amazing apps. Welcome to iPhone world... We are now hoping that someday near future, Jonie can join us too.

That is our caesar salad with salmon.

Don't recall the name of this dish. Didn't really like it as it was over cooked! Too hard.

It's German sausage but it's too salty! :(

Honestly, I don't think I would go back again until I try Ingolf in it's restaurant. Tasted it's German sausage during the Octoberfest and love it!.

Starbucks Planner 2010

I made it this year! :) Finally got my Starbucks Planner early. Love the design and quality as it looks really elegant and professional too. Did you get enough stamps to get yours too? If not, I understand Starbucks is selling them at RM55 each. There are 3 vouchers inside too. With free drinks and some offers but it's at a precise date only! I have started redesigning it to my own taste already...... it's only available at JenC's Starbucks Planner (no preview of it. :P)

Food: Soul Kitchen

Last weekend, I was out with Tammy on a mission to check out a few places for good photography session. Unfortunately, it was drizzling and we went for brunch instead after that. But we couldn't decide where to go until Tammy said that why don't we try Soul Kitchen which is located at Muntri Street. The place serves breakfast, lunch and dinner too. We were there about 10:30am so it's still breakfast! :)

The place looks cozy and eventually it was packed with foreigners and locals too. Oh not forgetting, it's FREE Wifi! We even tweet and foursquare while waiting for our food and drinks. In between, we took some random shots here and there.

The above is the drinks menu and for breakfast, I ordered American Breakfast. It's yummy if you are a person who don't like salty food. Below are my breakfast and latte.

Besides that, that is their Christmas menu - Snowflakes's Menu and Mistletoe Menu (Approx RM48).

And that is the no 102 of Soul Kitchen's address.  So it's 102, Muntri Street, 10200 Penang, Malaysia.
Opening hours are from 10am to 3pm and 6pm to 9pm. And they can be contacted at 04-2613118 or 6012-5943522. Kindly look for Michele or Tonio.

I am not sure how's the place and condition on a HOT day but I was there on a cold morning so it was just perfect! It's a nice place to hang out with your friends and just chill over a simple nice meal and drink. I will surely go back again to try out the lunch or dinner menu.

On the same street, go down further and you might want to try MoonTree47. :) (Updated 15 March 2011)

What I love about Social Media

Social Media don't even exist much if we mentioned it like 10 years ago but it's a trend and one of the hottest topic everywhere today! Many people have ask me this question, what do you like about social media? For me, it's about getting the latest topic and shared it with my family and friends via social media  tools such as twitter or facebook. Besides that, I get to expand my circle of friends. Up to date, I have 463 friends on Facebook (only less than 10% of people I haven't met in real life) and 460 followers on Twitter.

Even if it is a new thing for most of you, Social Media has been a daily thing for me. I enjoyed tweeting and facebooking on daily basis such as updating my status and sharing the pictures I took. Besides that, I even enjoy Foursquaring. It's like a game where I get to collect my points and badges and also explore new shops in town! Other than that, you get good tips from other players too and specials from the business owner.

Despite all that, I have won iPod Shuffle via twitter contest, a designer handbag for a friend via Facebook contest and also an iPhone app - paid version for FREE via twitter too. It's been a really fun time for me both on twitter and facebook. :D

From all the above, I also use Social Media to conduct charity in March, 2010, which is known as Penang Twestival. At present, I am also volunteering for Social Media Club Penang. It's a non-profit organization to help to educate the public about social media and how it can help you in your personal life and businesses in general.

What do you like about Social Media? Would love to hear your thoughts about it... :)

Let's tweet!

Sweetup Candy - Lollipops

My friend, Tammy, just started a home business. It's none other than home made lollipop, Sweetup Candy. There are a few varieties available and flavours are nutmeg, apple, blueberry, rose and peppermint (for Christmas).
If you are looking for lollipops for children's party or birthday party, do check them out on Facebook, Twitter and blog too!

Straits Quay

It's a new happening place in town. Everyone was talking about it so I decided to make a trip there with my mum and cousin sister. I was so excited and make sure my camera is fully charged! :-P

Unfortunately, I was pretty upset as there was nothing to see or being impressed with. Guess I will have to wait for more shops to open before my next visit there again. On the other hand, I don't like the multi carpark as it is quite narrow for bigger cars.

Here are some of the pictures I took indoor as it was raining when we were there.

That is one of the tallest Christmas tree in Penang.

A group of carolers was singing some Christmas song.

Charity - Loccitane 2011 Diary

Last weekend, I was at Gurney Plaza doing my Christmas shopping and I came across this diary by Loccitane. This is part of their contribution to the charity. They are selling the diary for RM 15 and charity goes to the Malaysian Association for the Blind. Hope you can do the same as well. Buy the diary as a Christmas gift and you are doing charity at the same time. Go grab one now at the store nearby.
