Fire Vs Money

After going through so much these few days, I actually realized that money and fire have a lot in common. When I was just a little girl, in school we always learned this phrase about fire. It's in Bahasa Malaysia language, "Kecil menjadi kawan, Besar menjadi lawan" and define as if the fire is small, it's your friend. The fire can keep you warm during the cold season. On the other hand, when the fire gets out of control, it can destroy you and everything that you have. I have always remember this phrase and never thought that it can even be meant for money.

Money! I agree that money is one of the most important thing in life. Without it, we can't live either. As a Christian, I am taught that God gave us money to manage while we are on this earth. It doesn't belong to us 100% as we can't take it with us when we leave this world. It's a good teaching for me so I don't see money so great and the greed for having more of them. To me, I see it as God had assigned all this money through my salary to manage it for a better living for myself and the people around me. Also, to use that money to bless others when the need arises too. As a human, we all have pride and do stumble once in awhile. The most important thing is that, we always counter check our motive and get back on the right track. No one is perfect, but we try our best to be better each day.

You must be wondering why I am talking so much about money suddenly. Well, in this journey of life, I can say that I have gone through a lot and it had taught me a lot too. To the point that I have seen a child who mistreat his parents for the sake of money. This child is filthy rich yet he put money above his parents. It is not a right thing to do. A small amount of money can feed those who are hungry and it can save that person life. And when you are talking about being filthy rich, it can destroy you as well if you would put money first before your parents or family. One of the Ten Commandments in the Bible, is that honour your parents.

Message to the younger generation, honour your parents if you want to be successful in life. You might not believe this, but time will show it all to you. Always remember, no matter what, they are your parents. It's your flesh and blood. They brought you to this world and raise you up the way they can. You will not be who you are today without them. It's okay to surfer while you are younger to have a better future.

Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. 2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth

Charity: Penang Twestival 2011

Penang Twestival Local 2011 was a great successes. We managed to raise RM7750 within 2 weeks and we are still hoping for some online donation till 31 March 2011. The event was held on 24th March 2011 at Sticks Fire Bistro, Queensbay Mall. The venue was sponsored by them and they also provide us with yummy finger food. We want to thank all the sponsors that contributed to this event and also the volunteers.
It was indeed a very busy evening for me. I didn't have the time to snap nice pictures and social around. Before the event started, I just managed to grab a few pictures to share with you all before getting really busy with the cash flow. It's purely just snap and shoot!

Donation tickets are sold at RM40 each and 100% of the amount collected are given to NASAM directly.

This is a home made teddy bear that my mum contributed. She bought the layout and design from a lady and then stuffed the bears up. Once she had done it, she will stitched all the parts together and fix the final finishing. It took her more than 1 month to complete 13 teddy bears. They were all sold out on that day itself! :)

Blissful Memorial Park is our MAIN sponsor for that evening. They had sponsored many things and t-shirts were among the few items. Each of these t-shirts are sold, auctions or given as lucky draws.

These are one and only special hand made earrings. We were told there is no identical earring in this world.

Hungry? These are the feasting corner! :D

One of our volunteers helping around to set up the banner for the background with all our sponsor's logo.

Sponsors: Blissful Memorial Park, ChurpChurp, Yet Another Studio, Gin and Jacqie, Sweetup Candy, Danai Spa, Sticks Fire Bistro, Libra - Living with Brands, Boost Malaysia and Liang Printing Services.

That is Mr Ooi aka @daaditsu (twitter handle name) who showed his support for Penang Twestival! :)

Yet Another Studio was one of our sponsors. All the designs for Penang Twestival 2011 logo, tickets design and banner designs were all done by them. Besides that, each and everyone from Yet Another Studio made the effort to be there to support the event! You guys rock! :D

Mr Chan from NASAM was giving his introduction speech to everyone who came and support this charity event.

I want to thank my mum, cousins and friends who had supported me in many ways to raise funds for this event. Love you all! :D

Photography: Bukit Tinggi, Pahang

I was so so excited when my cousin said let's go to Bukit Tinggi this weekend. Finally, I get to get out of Penang and something nice for photography too. But I was really disappointed with everything about Bukit Tinggi. It's really sad how a rich company like Berjaya managed the place. The price for the food and beverage are extremely pricey and tasteless. The hotel rooms are really dirty. If they managed it well, it can be a really nice place to hang out to just relax and enjoy the environment. It's the first time, I can't wait to go home from my vacation.

The only thing that I am happy is that, I didn't come home empty handed. I got some lovely pictures that I am happy with. The design of the house was something I was looking forward to. The tudor houses design and colours are refreshing. But the inside of the houses, needs a lot of maintenance.

Besides where the hotel is located, we visited the Japanese Garden. It's the first Japanese Tea House in the Tropical Forest. Other than than, it's nothing much to shout about. I enjoyed the walk and the fresh air only. It's 3500 feet above sea level.

It's a NO trip for me.

Photography: Clouds

I just love God's creation, especially the CLOUDS. They come in different sizes, shapes and colours. I was at The Spring Condo again for a meeting and I managed to capture some pictures of the clouds that I like.

iPhone Apps: For Photography

Let me share with you the iPhone Apps that I used for most of my photography shooting and editing as well. For me, iPhone is one of the most important gadget for me. When I am not with my DSLR, it's the most convenient camera I got on hand. Hope my sharing will be useful for those who can't figure out which apps to go for. Some of the apps I am going to share are FREE and some are PAID apps. The choice is always in your hand. :)

Hipstamatic

It's one of the coolest paid app that I love, as it gives you the feeling that you are having a "DSLR" camera. It allows you to change lens, films, flash and also the casing of your camera. It does comes with standard lens, films, flash and casing. You have an options to purchase different types of lens and films.

This is a FREE app and it's really a good Korean app. Don't worry about not knowing the language as I don't either. Just feel and try. The apps have a lot of different features such as fish eye, taking 4 shots simultaneously, panorama and many more. Try it! Nothing to think as it's FREE and the result is very impressive.

It's a PAID apps. But the features is good. It provides features like grid, geo tagging, touch expose and focus and many more. I have personally recommended this to my close friends and they are really enjoying using this app. Then again, it all voice down to personal preferences.

It's another PAID apps where it allows you to change from miniature pictures to vintage styles images. Besides that, it allows you to adjust the blurriness of picture as one of the effect for your pictures. You can also adjust the contrast and the saturations of the pictures. It adds the effect to your original pictures.

Last but not least, this is a good FREE app. You can rotate, crop, change the border of the pictures and also a few editing to your pictures. It's one of the best recommended top FREE apps. It's a must have in your iphone! :)

Hope this will benefit you guys. If there is any topic you like, do voice out and I hope I can share it from my point of view. Enjoy your new apps! :)

Food: MoonTree47

As usual, I love to spend my time on the internet. I am either working or browsing or blogging and while doing that, I came across a blogpost about this newly opened cafe at Muntri Street. I got excited and almost immediately I put it down in my organizer, under a place where I am going to take my mum there. :) For those of you who don't know, she is my so called partner in crime for hunting down new places for coffee! :P

Randomly, I was in town to collect my parcel from Pos Laju and was thinking where to go for dinner. As usual.... I can't decide where to eat. Then, it just strike me! We can head to Muntri Street and try MoonTree47! Off we went to that direction........

I just fall in love with the layout of the place and the antique display. It's open for a month only! :D Glad I am the first few who managed to visit the place. Reminds me of my childhood time. :)

The food taste good and cheaper than Amelia Cafe and Kopi Cine. But taste and atmospheres are different, so they are all worth trying. :) It's all about adventure and suits to personal liking.

The owner is a very friendly person! Ooppss.... sorry I forgot to ask for her name. :( Mum was busy talking to her.
