Food: Charlie Brown Cafe @ Straits Quay

It's the FIRST Charlie Brown Cafe in Malaysia! Can't you imagine that it's in Penang and not Kuala Lumpur? :D Woohhooo..... I was there last weekend with my mum. However, prior to that visit, I was told to go with low expectation and reading review from those who had went. For me, I like to experience it for myself at least once while they are still open for business.

The food is below average and the coffee is just okay only. Sad but this is my honest opinion. The only thing I love about the place is they put 101% all out for the decoration and branding. Go and give it a try. :)

Love how each table have different design. This is the design on the table we sat on.

It's for decoration purposes.

The souvenir shop is inside the cafe itself.

It's the counter where we order our food.

Orderd mushroom soup and pumpkin soup. Taste is below average for the pumpkin soup.

This is my caffe late. Just love the design.

The tartar sauce was good but the fish was okay only.

This is the worst pasta seafood I ever tasted. It's worst than drinking water. Hope they will improve.

Food: Kopi Cine

Sunday means the day for my photography. This week I visited another new place called Kopi Cine at Stewart Lane. It's located at a corner of a T junction. The entire row of the houses are under the same management called Straits Collection under the Bon Ton Group. There is a website that contain full details about the residence, restaurant and retail too - http://www.straitscollection.com.my

After browsing the website and was informed by a friend of mine, I decided to visit the place. The person in charge who maintain the place is doing a great job. Reason being the pictures you see in the website is almost similar to the place at this point of time. I was quite impress with it.

As usual, I was busy taking pictures of the place. That is something I really enjoy doing and love doing it cos it bring joy to my life. For one, I am not a person who likes to write a lot. I just like to share the pictures I took. To me, pictures said a thousand words. Agree? :P While I was busy taking pictures, a lady by the name of Ms Anna Yoon took time to show me around the Reading Room and Residence. She is so friendly and informative. Thank you, Ms Anna! You make me feel so welcome at home as though I was a foreigner. Let me share with you some pictures.

There are so many things to see and share. I think I over shared pictures here. :P Spend so much time taking pictures of everything except food! I only took 2 pictures on food and it is not an attractive picture but the food is GOOD! It's not as expensive as Amelie's Cafe as the price is quite reasonable.

See told you only 2 pictures. Hehe... Just bare in mind that you might find it a little hard to find a parking lot but it is surely worth the experience. Oh.. and for those who have little children, don't worry as crayons are provided and the tables are covered with mahjong paper. It's very creative and I love it! :D If you are interested to see the little me trying hard to be creative, scroll a little lower down and tada.......

Opps.... sorry I am not creative at all! :P

Food: Coffee Lane - Syphon Brewed Coffee

e It was weekend again and I was out for another venture. This time, it's syphon brewed coffee at Coffee Lane which is located at King St. If you have no idea, it is at the same road with Sire Museum. This place was introduced by my ex-school mate, Ms Anggur. She knows that I love taking pictures and  coffee. So, she was very keen that I should personally try this place. The style of brewing the coffee is very interesting as it is using the syphon way. It is inside one of the pre-war house. The place had  renovated and it's very neat and clean. The unique and olden days layout are there. That makes it more natural and beauty. It's not easy to find well maintain pre-war house in Penang anymore. Most of the houses had been converted to new buildings.

Inside the house, it gives you a very homely feeling. I sense that because it reminds me of my childhood house in Jelutong. I grew up in this kind of houses and it does bring back lots of nice memories. It was already noon when we were there and decided to have our branch there instead. We ordered tom yam mee soup and chicken noodle in chicken herbal soup for lunch. The food taste good and the presentation of the food is nice too.

Don't they look delicious? Oopps.... I am hungry de! :P

Let's move to other pictures on the equipement that was used to brew the nice coffee. The owner, Mr Terry Beh, was very friendly and nice person. I asked for permission to take pictures around the place and during the preparation of the coffee and he gave me a green light! :D My mum was asking how the coffee is brewed while I was taking pictures! :D That is pretty obvious right? Hehe...

See how the coffee powder is brewed? :D

Part of the preparation of the coffee.

This is part of the making for ice cream coffee. I am going to try that the next round.

Different types of syphon used to brew the coffee.

The termometer used to control the temperature of the water boiling.

There are many types of bean that are available for your choices. Different beans will give you the different taste and aroma too. The coffee that I took is medium bitter without sugar. The best part of the brewed coffee is that the after taste of the coffee will still last in your throat for a while. That is something I enjoy very much drink the brewed coffee from this place.

This is my mum enjoying her coffee, which has a total different taste from mine. Much stronger.....
