Food: Kampar Fish Jelly Restaurant @ Hakka Mee

I have been to this place for a few times now and this is the first time I notice the name of the restaurant because I want to check-in into FourSquare! :P This place is always packed with working people during lunch time.

This restaurant is selling Hakka Noodle, white and yam rice, herbal chicken, chicken feet stew, black soya sause stew and not forgetting the yong tau fu. Must go and try.

The restaurant is located along Jalan Aziz Ibrahim in Batu Uban suburb, opposite Taman Pantai Jerejak. The operating hours are from Tuesday till Sunday from 10:30am - 2:30pm (Lunch time) and 6:30pm - 9:30pm.

One blur day

Lately, I am a person who can't sleep after a cup of tea or coffee but I love both of them. Yesterday evening, I had a cup of tea about 7pm and I couldn't sleep the entire night! I was zombified in the office today and I had to work till really late. :(
Today during lunch I was out with my gf, Peky after a many months of missing in actions. She is a very busy lady with her work, her bf and church stuff! :) It's a really random thing that both our schedule can meet. She was kind enough to give me a ride since my office is on the way down to town......  On her list were 2 stops before heading for lunch. First stop was a Christian distributor shop where you get bookmarks, notebooks, keychains and many other stuff too. After much considering.. Peky managed to get the things she wanted and I got a few cute stuff too! On the way out, I tried to pull the door open but it got stuck. I thought it was locked so I look for a button to press it open (you know how the new door system is nowadays everywhere). Unfortunately, the door was not lock, I just had to pull it harder and the button I pressed was to switch OFF the lights! OOppss......  the worker there laugh at me and I didn't realised it till Peky told me about it. See how blur .........
I got back to the office, I told my mum the incident... and I can't stop laughing at my blurriness. Mum said it is good for me to be blur once in awhile. :P

I went to Pavilion, The Curve and KLCC..... And all of them were packed including Monday! Somehow... When I am depressed or stress, retail therapy play a small healing part! Now I am back to work to path up that hole I made when I was in KL.....

This amaze me... So I took a picture of it. Suria KLCC centre court. :)

Food: @ The Sun

My friend, UncleBotak was in Penang for a couple of days and I met up with him last evening for dinner. We couldn't decide where to go for dinner and I came up with few suggestions (I am bad at this). He was just being really polite to ask me to choose. I was trying to hunt high and low until I saw someone post up on her FB about this place @ The Sun. EEmm... haven't heard of this place at all and I thought why not then? So I twitted him and ask for his opinion about it and he agreed! :D LOL... it took him a long while to shyly tells me he wanted western food! :P So @ The Sun it is!

The restaurant is located at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Centre at Jalan Macalister, Penang. It is located within the Penang Philomatic Union building, was a reading club then. This reading club was started by the Tung Meng Hooi. For more details, kindly refer to the Sun Yat-Sen Penang Base at 120 Armenion Street. I will try to find a day to do that too soon and post it up here.

You will not miss the restaurant as it is directly facing the main entrance. The location of this building is at one of the busiest street in Penang but yet the environment inside the restaurant is not affected by it. It may look very simple from the outside but as you step into the restaurant, you will get a different feeling then. Here is just a little peek for you.

We got there pretty early @ 7pm. Technically, we were the first group to cheer up the silent atmosphere with our chit chat and laughter. The workers was very friendly and polite too! It just make my day when someone great me with a smile on his or her face! :D The food was pleasant and it was only RM36 per-person for the entire course dinner from ........ as shown in the menu below.

This is the welcome drink which is not in the menu! :) I had tasted the drink before but I just couldn't tell what it was. :P Sorry!

This is my pumpkin soup.

Grilled chicken with garlic thyme sause served with potato wedges.

Marble cheese cake was mine.

And this is UncleBotak's chocolate moist cake.

I do hope UncleBotak had a great time there. I know I did. His company was excellent. He never fails to amaze me with many things! A really great person inside out. Oohh ya.. wait till you meet his wife, Pam! She is also another wonderful friend that I met the last trip she was in Penang. I really thank God for blessing these great couple into my life. :D

Photography: Hip Hop Week in Gurney Plaza

I was in Gurney Plaza by chance on Sunday to watch the hip hop competition. Just amazing how kids these days have such great talents! There was a group of four that I was totally impressed with their dance choreography . I just love dancing so much but due to my back problem I don't think I can go back salsa-ing again. Oh well, those were the days...
There was about 16 groups of teenagers competing. I didn't manage to stay for the entire show but was long enough to take a few shots. Here they are...

Here are the three judges... don't they look bored? :P Oh well, one important tips is your facial expression when you are dancing! It plays an important role....

Weekend alone in Penang

It's rather rare that I get the weekend all to myself. This weekend, my family members decided to go to Cameron for the short weekend. I didn't tag along cause I got to work. Hope they enjoyed themselves and I get to see some nice pictures. Saturday was a very tiring day for me as I need to work and the night before I slept at 3am. So I stayed at home after work with just me and the entire tv. Really nice and relaxing just doing nothing at home.
Without realizing, here comes Sunday. As usual, I need to be in the office for awhile. Once that is done, I finally got time for other things. Hehe... I couldn't decide where or what to do. So I just let my hubby take me which ever direction. Eventually, I end up at gurney plaza. It was still early so parking was not a problem. There my retail therapy begins.... :P Got a few stuff that I was looking into. Not to long after that,  I had my brunch at Winter Warmers.

I spent about an hour there enjoying my food and good music from ipod. Besides that, I twitted a lot too! :) That is a way to spend weekend alone but connected on virtual world. I really thank God for technology! :D

Photography: Joss Stick Maker

During my street photography on Sunday, we managed to past by the joss stick maker shophouse. The maker, Mr Lee made the joss stick all by himself at his shophouse. The joss stick are all made out from  imported sandalwood power from Australia. When the joss stick is burnt, you will be able to smell the fragrant incense. Normally, he do not work on Sunday. But however, it's Cheng Bang week so he opened an extra one day to produce more for the demand. I managed to snap some pictures of him with his permissions. A very friendly man indeed.

The pictures below will show you a brief idea how he made the joss stick. After making them into one stick, it is then left to dry. There are many sizes too!

This is the packaging I saw left outside of his shophouse, the bag to import in his sandalwood powder from Australia. He is a very famous man after all the publicity from the Penang Tourism to promote Penang under the heritage and traditional trades. You can see him in a lot of Penang Brochure.

Photography: Things I saw during street photography

This is the second time I did street photography. It's another great exposure and I see a lot of different things this time. I was accompanied by Choo and Chng. Both of them are senior photographers. I had learned a lot from both of them. Here are some of my shots. Also, I thank God for the blue sky that morning! :)
